I'1000 not a big meatloaf fan but my whole family unit loved this every bit did I. I sauteed the mushrooms and onions with two large cloves of garlic and besides made some garlic flavored breadcrumbs. I also make a glaze blazon topping from some other meatloaf recipe which was 2/3 cup ketchup, 4 Tablespoons dijon mustard and iv Tablespoons brownish carbohydrate and poured it on acme earlier baking. Information technology was reall great and complimented the flavor nicely. Will make once more for certain.

OUT-OUT-RAGEOUS! We love meatloaf and I have three or iv favorites - this now becomes #one! The only things I changed was because of what I was in the mood for - ketchup I am sure would have been fine but I substituted the ketchup with jarred beef gravy with mushrooms and poured what was left over the elevation of the meatloaf (inserted holes with my finger into the summit of the meatloaf so the gravy could seep through). I too added just a nuance of Worcestershire sauce and 1 l/2 tablespoons of Italian seasoning. I was only using a little more than a pound of beef and then I cooked my loaf at 425 for 1 hr. (I always use that temp. for meatloaf) and at that temp yous can put potatoes in the oven and they are baked through at the same time. Served creamed spinach with it. Dinner was done in no time and what comfort food!!! Thank you submitter - this meatloaf was soooo moist.

I liked this recipe as a starter merely I fabricated lots of changes: sauteed mushrooms and onions earlier folding them in, used pepper relish instead of ketchup (information technology gave another layer of flavor, and moisture). I also used Rachael Ray's recipe for Italian meatloaf glaze. The overall effect was outstanding. EDITED: I've been making this recipe with iii/4 ground turkey and i/4 ground pork (as lean every bit I can get), and information technology is excellent.

I LOVE this meatloaf! I'k not a meatloaf fan commonly, just this recipe has get one of our favorites. Ane tip: form the meatloaf in a loaf pan and then slam in into a 9x13 baking dish and remove the loaf pan. The meatloaf will still keep it's loaf shape, but all the fatty will go around it and the loaf won't be mushy.

This tasted pretty good. Instead of mixing the mushrooms up thru the whole meatloaf, I patted 1/2 meat into the lesser of the pan-then added a layer of mushrooms, swiss cheese slices, so remainder of meatloaf mixture. In terminal five minutes-I added few more mushrooms on summit and few more swiss cheese slices-merely until cheese melts. Everybody loved this. Thanks for shaaring.
02/02/2001
Yum! Espsecially if you utilize Italian seasoned breadcrumbs and add nearly 4 cloves of garlic. Leftovers tin can exist made into sandwiches.
11/29/2010
This is a really good basic meatloaf. I switched out the bread crumbs for oatmeal (only because that's how I grew upwardly with it being made). I too added a few healthy dashes of worchestershire for some added flavor.
11/14/2010
This was the first meatloaf that I accept ever made and the whole family unit loved it! The changes I made(cheers to reviews) were: onion soup mix instead on onion, foam of mushroom instead of ketchup, & garlic salt instead of table salt. Next time I think that I will add some Swiss cheese.
04/01/2006
This was good. I used spaghetti sauce instead of ketchup. We do like our other meatloaf recipe a piddling bit better, merely this was adept and we needed a change.
10/04/2010
The secret of this recipe is the minced mushrooms which keep the meatloaf juicy. I have been making this recipe for three years at present. Originally I put the 6 whole mushrooms inside which was a novelty, but now I simply mince all of the mushrooms as a preference and for the ease of slicing the cooked meatloaf. I add 1 tsp of oregano and replace the ketchup with a tomato plant-basil pasta sauce. For the terminal 5 minutes or so of cooking, I drain the fatty away and put a little more of the pasta sauce on top to improve the appearance. A tasty and dependable recipe for a juicy meatloaf.
12/28/2005
i used a mushroom gravy mix instead of minced mushrooms and it turned out corking!
08/xi/2005

09/14/2010
- onions + three cloves garlic + ane/4 cup spinach + topped with cream of mushroom
11/xiii/2010
I would give this a four.five if it was possible! The recipe itself was skillful, merely I did change it. Sauteed chopped mushrooms, onions, celery, and garlic. Added to meat mixture. Subbed Dorothy Lynch French dressing for catsup and baked one hour at 425 degrees. Very good! Will make again!!
02/09/2011
This was Really adept! I used turkey, and to tell you the truth I forgot I wasn't eating beef. The mushrooms add and so much season to the recipe, and it was skilful till the last crumb. It made for excellent sandwiches besides.

I made this gluten costless past drying my own GF staff of life crumbs and I used ground turkey instead of footing beef. Information technology was very tasty, definitely will be making information technology again.
09/21/2010
This was a fantastic recipe. I was hesitant as information technology looked too easy! I made 3 minor changes - I didn't leave any mushrooms united nations-minced as my son hates mushrooms and I wanted to hide them ;) and I added iii leaves of fresh minced basil (mine grows like crazy so I add it to just about everything). My son loved it so much he had seconds! Likewise, I used Adoba seasoning instead of salt. Next time, I will endeavour sauteing the onions and mushrooms first.
01/25/2011
This is a wonderful recipe. Information technology is also delicious exchanging ane pound of ground beef for turkey. My family loved it.
x/26/2010

Splendid! My married woman (a fine melt in her own correct) said that this was the best meatloaf she had always tried. It will definitely be office of our dinner plans going forwards. I actually used "meatloaf mix" from the supermarket and panko breadstuff crumbs. Very moist and flavorful!
08/16/2010
Really moist and expert! I did what one fellow member suggested, instead of ketchup i used spaghetti sauce. Also, I used canned mushroom. What i did was saute the mushroom with garlic then put it into nutrient processor together with onion. So mix it with the ground beefiness and other ingredients. All ingredients blended so well. My roommates loved it!
08/09/2010
I should accept added mushroom gravy like one of the reviewers did, it was banal just beautiful.
08/12/2010
Delicious! I'm not a huge ketchup fan, so I was glad to have the essence of it, merely not overwhelming. Next time I might add together a few dashes of Worcestershire or a bit of minced garlic, considering I thought it needed simply a tad bit something more, simply the addition of mushrooms were then adept, and the simplicity of the ingredients for the flavor might be just desire some people similar!
05/24/2011
Yummy! I by and large don't like meatloaf (get in for married man & kids) merely I sure do now! Substitutions: 1 C quick rolled oats for the breadstuff, deli mustard instead of Dijon (for the coat). My only qualm is that it spilled over the sides of the pan, making a mess. Probably because I used 98% lean gr beef. While eating information technology, my kids requested extra glaze sauce, so you might desire to brand some actress. I whipped it up & microwaved it for a few seconds. I as well sautéed the onions & mushrooms with the garlic like others suggested. Volition brand again!
03/15/2011
This meatloaf turned out wonderful - very flavorful and juicy! I like spicy food and then I added some chopped jalepenos and a dash of hot sauce to kick it up a notch!

12/31/2009
This is a wonderful recipe that never does me incorrect. I put a lot more mushrooms so the recipe calls for so I always have to drain h2o mid-broil but I just actually beloved mushrooms! Information technology e'er turns out great. I also use ground turkey instead and people tell me they cant even taste the divergence. I usually serve information technology with mushroom gravy on the side.
09/06/2011
Good! but not great (for me). I topped it w/ 2 Tbsp brown sugar, two teaspoons Worcestershire, 1 Tbsp Ketchup. This is the topping from "Turkey and Quinoa Meatloaf"
eleven/12/2011
Not a big fan of meatloaf only this was Succulent!! Even my hubby who stays away from ground beef, loved this dish! I did make a couple changes, as suggested by other reviewers, which are equally follows; sauteed pre sliced fresh portabella mushrooms with the i/2 cup of onions and diced bong peppers in a pan with two cloves of garlic before mixing into ground beef mixture. Used garlic herb flavored bread crumbs and baked at 375 degrees for an hour and a half.. Paired this with sauteed greenish beans/bacon bits and mashed potatoes and we were in heaven!! Definitely will be making this many, many more nights to come!
12/01/2005
I haven't had meatloaf for about ten years and so I didn't know if I would like it. my husband tried this recipie and it was a hit! My husband told me it was very good! Information technology was great! I await forward to making this again. (However, I had to cook longer that information technology said merely it is worth the wait!)
06/27/2010
Good recipe and easy, especially if you lot use canned mushrooms. People, y'all might want to add your own spices if you lot similar zesty food. Thanks for posting!
12/30/2002
First-class! Did not include the whole mushrooms, but everything else was followed exactly equally instructed. Did not use a meatloaf pan - broiled on broiler pan which allowed most of the fat to drain. Covered with foil later ane hour and removed from oven 20 minutes earlier than specified.
08/08/2011
I absolutely loved this dish! I put information technology into 4 small loaf pans and each loaf was more than than enough for dinner each night for me and my daughter. Loved the whole mushrooms in the centre....it was like a little surprise treat! I will definately make this again.
07/27/2010
very good will make it again!
06/24/2009
Very tasty. I put a topping on the last 20 min. of blistering: one/4 loving cup ketchup, 1/4 cup bbq sauce & 1T Steak Sauce. Every bit others suggested I did saute' onion, mushrooms, green pepper (considering I had some), and chopped garlic (considering this goes in about everything!) before adding to meat mixture.
04/04/2000
I ADDED A COUPLE OF CLOVES OF GARLIC TO Kicking IT Upward A NOTCH.
05/05/2011
I love mushrooms, and this tastes nothing like I idea it would. It was weird and bland, I had to toss information technology.
09/12/2011
Piece of cake to make, awesome taste. Second time effectually I added diced greenish peppers. Nosotros make double batches, cook, piece and freeze for easy lunches, and quick dinners. Remians fresh and juicey.
11/03/2008
This Meatloaf was terrific. I used "Meatloaf Mix" (1/3 beef, veal and pork) and 8 oz sliced Babe Bella Mushrooms. Took advice of one reviewer and sauteed three/4's of the mushrooms with onion and garlic in i Tblsp Butter and one Tblsp Olive oil before mixing in with meat mixture. So, I put sliced mushrooms betwixt ii layers of the meat mixture before topping it off. Besides used 1/4 c.Hickory Smoked (commercial) BBQ Sauce and one/4 c. ketchup instead of all ketchup. Finally, used equal parts ketchup, BBQ sauce and Steak sauce to make 1/ii cup sauce to spread of meridian of loaf. Flavor was wonderful!
09/03/2009
Delicious! I loved it. I did saute the onion and mushroom in red vino. Sooo skillful!
10/23/2011
Ane of my shell meatloaf! I made it with the recommended glaze and it was fantastic! I shaped it in my drinking glass load pan and smashed it onto a cookie tray, then slathered on half the glaze, and more part way baking. Next fourth dimension, i wont put in the whole mushrooms, it made the meatloaf hard to slice. Thanks for all the helpful advice!
03/11/2006
Beware--this recipe takes only well-nigh 50 minutes to one hour to cook! If you cook it for as long every bit it states, you'll accept meat-flavored cardboard. That beingness said, I love the mushrooms in information technology--makes it juicier and fun too.
07/17/2008
Probably the all-time meatloaf I've ever had. I didn't make any substitutions to the recipe, but I didn't have exactly 2 pounds of basis beefiness (1 1/2). Information technology was SO moist and tasty!
04/06/2011
It'south hard to get excited about meatloaf, but this was outstanding! Great season. I added a bit more onions & mushrooms than it called for and so information technology didn't bind quite likewise as it might take, but the gustation was succulent!!! Volition definitely make this again!
06/01/2010
Dear how fast and yummy information technology is! If y'all don't have fourth dimension to look for this to cool, I would omit the whole mushrooms (Molten hot!)
04/25/2007
I and my family unit absolutely loved this meatloaf. My girl loves information technology because of the surprise she found later on not bad into it, my husband loved it because he is a guy, I loved it because information technology was too easy. I added diced light-green pepper and instead of ketchup i used tomato juice, i still topped it wit ketchup.
xi/17/2002
fantabulous! I had to fight my husband for some of this.
08/23/2007
This was sooo practiced. I left my mushrooms chopped besides big and the meatloaf vicious autonomously just all the same tasted wonderful. I added cheese to it but will not do that again. The loaf does not need it. Volition make again!!
04/18/2008
I thought this was corking! I added more mushrooms than called for and besides added some carrots and celery to sneak in some more vegetables. It came out moist and delicious. I volition definately keep this every bit my regular meatloaf recipe.
01/14/2009
Bang-up recipe!!!!!!
04/03/2008

04/28/2007
My first try @ meatlaof, married man & I both loved it. I must admit I made some additions based on other reviews; I added garlic to the meatloaf mixture & some piece of cheese to the middle; finally I topped the meatloaf with MISSMEGHAN'south glaze. Tin't look to try the leftovers.
12/21/2007
Not bad idea! I simply used nearly 6 or 8 small sliced mushrooms and information technology was plenty. The sauteed onions actually requite information technology a skilful gustatory modality. I reduced the meat to 1 lb and i/two, which turned out to fit only right in my pan. I spread brown sugar and ketchup on top, because to me, that is what completes a good meatloaf. Overall expert recipe! Thank you!
08/21/2011
This is a very good meatloaf---make information technology better by adding diced green pepper to sense of taste---for color, effort a cherry-red or yellow sweet pepper----can also combine all the colors, for meliorate presentation.
10/21/2011
Very good recipe, i couldn't await to cutting information technology to see what the mushrooms on the inside looked like. i subbed stove elevation pork stuffing for bread crumbs and used my local supermarkets meatloaf mix (pork/veal/footing beef) will be making once more for sure!
04/10/2010
I dropped the bread crumbs and added ane more egg. Like other reviewers, I used the food processor for the mushrooms and sauteed them with the onions earlier adding. Had a green pepper on hand, and then threw that in, too. Don't be scared by the amount of mushrooms - it was bully. Kids ate it up and never noticed. Grown-ups noticed and loved information technology.
04/27/2006
Yet the best meatloaf I have e'er fabricated hands down. I usually add extras like peppers to get a footling more vegies in it.
03/06/2007
Tastes great merely completely falls apart. I believe she meant to say to cook the onion and mushroom (except the reserved 6) - would attempt again but with cooked veggies.
06/09/2010
Outstanding and so juicy.
06/27/2000
OK, I *really* revamped this one! I made it vegetarian by using boca crumbles for the beefiness. I also added a bit of garlic, and glazed the acme with ketchup in the terminal fifteen min of melt time. It was very yummy!!
04/07/2009
My hubby said to give this a four.five! It was actually very good. I added a few things...Sauteed onion, green pepper, and chunky chopped mushrooms and i packet of onion soup mix (got it from another recipe from this site). Besides for the last ten min I added a sauce of tomato paste and bbq sauce to the top. :) yummy! I will brand it again.
01/19/2009
I thought this recipe was great! Not a ton of ingredients, which my budget appreciates, but even so had good flavor. I may add together a few more than spices next time, simply overall, very good.
01/30/2012
Succulent. I omitted the bread crumbs and nevertheless turned out neat.
03/26/2005
This was *extremely* adept. Everyone raved, and my roommates chose to swallow the leftovers for every meal until they were gone -- non to mention made Sad Faces at the empty pan -- and I don't think there'southward higher praise than that. I really recommend using a meat thermometer as the recipe author suggests; when I cooked ours, it reached 160 fashion earlier an hour and 45 minutes were upwardly.
07/10/2005
My girl who is very choice fifty-fifty liked this!
06/28/2000
girl did not similar the mushrooms
04/27/2011
Actually tasty. I would just change to possibly add together 1/2 loving cup bread crumbs and ane/two cup of panko breadstuff crumbs to keep it low-cal and to soak up some of the juice equally its really, really juicy. Also note that you need to let this sit for at to the lowest degree 10 minutes then that it can keep its form when y'all cut into it.
02/24/2009
Instead of i/2 lb fresh mushrooms I used a can( 1/4 lb. approx) of whole ones ( minced) because it'southward all i had. Added iii cloves of minced garlic, dash of cayenne, some msg t.t( it does wonders) and a lilliputian more salt and pepper than recipe calls for. Didn't add the whole mushrooms in the middle. Added a layer of ketchup to the top of meatloaf before baking- did not use any in meatloaf mixture. Took merely under one hr 45 min to broil. Cutting beautifully. My mother could'nt get over how well it sliced-she was impressed-she's a meatloaf lover then is my hubby- he said information technology's as expert equally his dad utilize to make it when he was a a child. I used some of the "juice" from the meatloaf with a club firm mushroom gravy mix, and it was divine. Dear this recipe. Definately a keeper. And i hated meatloaf before this. Way to get! I would recommend this recipe to anyone- meatloaf fan or non!
08/29/2008
This recipe was good... I made some interesting substitutions that you all could try. I used eggbeaters instead of whole eggs. I also have 2 ideas for the fresh mushrooms... Pennsylvania Dutch canned mushrooms or Cambell'southward Beefy Mushroom soup in the tin, don't add water. Also scallions instead of onion... unlike flavour. lycopersicon esculentum paste instead of katchup, and 2 Tbs. Steak Sauce, and dont forget fresh minced garlic and 1/2 cup Italian style breadcrums. I've tried all of this and information technology tastes corking. Leave a petty of the tomato plant paste to cover the top for the final 15-20 minutes of cook time. Thank you for listening.
04/xx/2009
this was gud, i added barbq pecos marinade with a chip of catch upwardly,,,,i also added celery, etc. my boys loved it,,
11/25/2009
We loved it. I definitely think the mushrooms add something special to a regular old favorite.
05/eleven/2006
This is an outstanding recipe. I have been playing with it from time to fourth dimension, substituting unlike mushrooms to see which one works wonderfully. I've found that Baby Bellas and Whitecap/Buttons work the best on this, while Maitake gives it a very smoky flavor but does non demark the meat as well. Your milage may vary on this.
06/23/2004
The swain RAVED. But so he e'er does that. I am not a meat eater, merely the gravy from it was excellent! I added some onion soup mix in there too.
04/22/2009
This is a wonderful meatloaf. The presentation with the mushrooms in the center is nice. This is definitely a keeper
03/04/2008

07/xvi/2005
Yummy! My boyfriend hates meatloaf - UNTIL NOW!
xi/20/2008

08/02/2006
simply Amazing!
08/02/2006

07/01/2012
When you love mushrooms as much as I do, this is fantastic!
01/21/2009
This was very good. I minced the mushrooms (except the 6 whole ones) as well as the onion and half a red pepper in a food processor. I likewise added garlic. I also put garlic bbq sauce on top about 20 minutes before it was done baking. It was actually tasty and juicy and I will definitely make it once more!
09/30/2004
Loved this one! Used tomato plant sauce instead of ketchup, simply information technology was very very good! Made it for an admitted picky eater, who had never had a meatloaf before. He's request me to make it again.
05/twenty/2006
This was okay. Nothing too special, a picayune bland for my familys tastes. Husband not a fan of the whole mushrooms. Would be practiced for kids. Easy & quick to brand.
10/21/2005
This recipe is first-class. Served it to company and they raved almost information technology. I used ground turkey instead of ground beef. Turned out groovy.
07/xix/2005
Well, I am giving upwardly on Meatloaf recipes. I don't know what information technology is I do wrong, just no matter what recipe I follow exactly, the meatloaf e'er sticks solidly to the lesser of the pan, even though I grease it well, AND slide a pocketknife around the edge during the cooking process. It'south so frustrating! This was just the same as all the other meatloaf recipes I attempt - it tastes ok with a skillful dousing of ketchup or bbq sauce - but it looks bad. *sigh* I just can't get information technology right. :(
02/11/2009
skillful BASIC recipe, definately dosnt rate v stars. some of the comenters tips rate v stars tho, eg. sauteting mush adding garlic etc.
12/08/2006
I tried this recipe considering I dearest mushrooms and had never thought to add together them to a meatloaf. This was pretty good simply thought it could utilize a petty garlic. The cooking fourth dimension is far too long, I only cooked it for about an hour.
ten/27/2005
New family unit favorite. Delicious....
12/12/2005
My fellow was very suprised when he seen the layer of mushrooms within the meatloaf. I felt like a gourmet chef! The meatloaf turned out very moist and wonderful! a+ to the creator
